About this blog

cropped-p1000784.jpgThe Cottonwood Post is the adult incarnation of a half-page newsletter I created as a child, The Tumbleweed Post. That one featured birding news and other noteworthy nature news from around my neighborhood in a suburb of Los Angeles. It was published each week on my refrigerator door where it was read by my mom, a couple friends, and me. This version is dedicated to news and stories about conservation, the environment, climate change, birds and birding, potentially anywhere in the world.

My primary goal is to bring untold stories and buried information to light (to the extent the information is publicly available), and to make well-known stories more simple and clear. I will often do this through the use of charts, graphs, and infographics.

I’m happy to re-post from other blogs and to host guest posts; contact me.
